Iceland is also referred to as The Land Of Fire And Ice. Part of the island is formed by the activities of the still active volcanoes and the other formed by the glaciers. It is a land of extremes and these extremes make it a great place to spend some time before you head over to mainland Europe.
Iceland is a place of wonder and history. You can hang out and view the Northern Lights (also known as the Aurora Borealis) while looking upon the same sky the Vikings did over 1000 years ago. You can also gather in local restaurants to hear stories of elves and trolls. A land of such extremes supports a population of only around 300,000 people.
Iceland is definitely on my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteThat's great. The blue lagoons are a thing to take in and see the northern lights.
