Festivals are a way to get in touch with the music, food, dance, and culture of a place. It puts you in touch with people and they allow you to have some real fun. These festivals show what is important to a particular place or culture and what they celebrate. Every part of the world holds different festivals for all the things they love, including the Netherlands.
Windmills, clogs, and the canals of Amsterdam are what usually come to mind when you think of the Netherlands. It is also a place celebrates tulips. They hold a yearly tulip festival throughout the country in the spring. Different colors mean different things and to this day they are a symbol of Holland. There are even tulip festivals held in New York and Michigan, states in the U.S. with many dutch roots.
