Around 12% of the English vocabulary includes technical and scientific terms deriving from Greek. Some of these words include mathematics, astronomy, geography, biology, politics, democracy, athletics, marathon, technology, electricity, antibiotics, telephone. In fact, almost every English word starting with PH has a Greek origin, for example, philosophy, physical, photo, phrase, phobia, phenomenon, philanthropy.
