Exploring the Amazon River

It's been twenty years since the Pantanal wetlands replaced the Amazon as the top wildlife adventure in Brazil. The Amazonian region, however, is still one of the best regions to visit in Brazil, whether on a cruise ship or a traditional riverboat. Once upstream, the most popular areas for wildlife watching are from Manaus up the Rio Negro or to head farther upriver to Tefé to stay at the exquisitely delightful Uakari floating lodge.

Wildlife and ecosystem highlights of this region include pink dolphins, piranha fishing, the Rio Negro's freshwater archipelago, caiman-spotting at night, flooded forests, pink-faced uakari monkeys, and tarantulas.

A wildlife trip like this is once in a lifetime, and I would love to help you make this dream a reality.
