Mountains surround the most popular beaches in Rio de
Janeiro. On one side stands Mount Corcovado, most famous for its 30-foot tall
statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooking the city. On the other side is
Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar).
Rising a quarter-mile into the air, Sugarloaf Mountain gives
a birds-eye view of Guanabara Bay and the city of Rio. Sugarloaf Mountain is
open year-round, but be sure to plan because the lines can get very long as
it's one of the most popular spots in Rio. It gets hot later in the day, so be
sure to climb it early or time your arrival for sunset.
The mountains surrounding Rio are waiting for you. Call or email me so we can get that trip set up.
