Greece is famous for the Greek Gods and Goddesses. The
ancient Greeks invented them due to their firm belief that the Gods existed.
They believed that Greek Gods and Goddesses possess supernatural powers that
can affect their lives. Beautiful temples were put up for each one. Since they
have many gods and goddesses, there are a lot of temples sprawled all over
ancient Greece.
The Gods even have myths created in their honor. The
famous poem "The Theogony" was written by a Greek writer named Hesiod
in 700 BC. It explains where the Greek Gods came from. Some of the Olympian
Gods are Zeus, Hera, Hades, Ares, Athena, Aphrodite, and Poseidon.
