For centuries, the enthralling Iguazu Falls have awed
tourists, locals, and even indigenous inhabitants. Also known as Iguaçu Falls,
it boasts 275 individual drops. It flows from the Iguazu River, and it sits on
the border of Brazil (in the state of Paraná) and Argentina.
The same falls divide the river with the same name into two:
the upper and lower portions. This fact
created myths and legends as to their origin. This river serves as the boundary
between Brazil and Argentina, making it an essential part of the political and
geographical structure on the continent of South America.
